Student run nonprofit Acting For A Cause recently donated $1,600 to Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society (IWS). The money IWS received came from the group’s November show “Decades,” a story about a group of teenagers on a long journey through the 20’s- 90’s.
Acting For A Cause has been giving profits from its productions held at Madison Street Theatre in Oak Park to local charities since 2012.
“We are thrilled to donate the proceeds of ‘Decades’ to the Clinic,” director Katie Powers said in a news release IWS issued Feb. 18. “We are committed to local charities and wanted to contribute to an organization that helps kids.”
Donations help underserved children access medical, dental and behavioral health services at the IWS Children’s Clinic.
