Fast Company recently named the online eyewear brand Warby Parker the most innovative company of 2015 over tech companies Apple, Google and Instagram to name a few.
Why? “For building the first made-on-the-Internet brand.”
Fast Company praised Warby Parker, now in its fifth year of operation, for surpassing the success of other e-commerce shops “because of its founders’ fanatical focus on brand and execution.” The eyewear company’s clever vertically integrated, buy-one-give-one business model helps too, though.
The company’s annual revenues are estimated to be over $100 million dollars, billions of dollars less than Apple’s 2014 annual revenue.
An aside: CEOs Dave Gilboa and Neil Blumenthal are as cute as buttons in their glasses. Peep the Spring Collection. Whoever said glasses weren’t sexy were wrong, wrong, wrong (wrote the writer/blogger with sky Fregossi blue frames).
